The Silence Is Over
The traditional maori instruments Taonga Pùoro were smashed/buried/burned
at the time of the missionaries and have been returned through the efforts
of Hirini Melbourne, Richard Nunns, Adrian Flintoff and newcomer Horomona
Horo.
This documentary for TVNZ's "ArtVille" asks what is their place in Western
orchestral music? Will their traditional value be lost when they are played
in the future in dance, rock bands + film music? Who will care for them
in the future?
